(1) Motor inspection and maintenance should be performed with the power off.
(2) Every three months, measure the cold insulation resistance of the motor using a 250V megohmmeter. The resistance should be greater than 0.5MΩ. If the resistance is less than 0.5MΩ, the motor should be dried.
(3) Check that the motor output wiring is correct and secure.
(4) Check that the commutator segments are clean and that the brushes slide freely in the brush holder.
(5) Check that all fasteners are tight.
(6) Every three months, check the brush wear and replace the brushes as needed.
(7) Perform a comprehensive maintenance on the motor annually.
