Increasing the contact area to reduce pressure and providing traction through a high-friction surface.
Distributing pressure: Loose sand cannot withstand the concentrated pressure applied by tires, causing them to sink. The traction board distributes the tire's pressure over a larger area, preventing it from sinking further.
Providing traction: The traction board's hard surface and anti-slip treads provide tires with a far more reliable grip surface than loose sand. When the tire rotates, it "bites" onto the board surface, generating sufficient traction to propel the vehicle forward.
