Park the vehicle on a hard, level surface, apply the parking brake, and secure the wheels with chocks.
Identify the officially designated support points for the vehicle's chassis (see your vehicle's owner's manual for details).
Use a jack to jack the vehicle up near the support points to a height slightly above the target height.
Place a pair of security stands symmetrically under the support points.
Adjust the stand heights so that the support heads align and contact the support points.
Insert the safety pins and ensure they are securely locked.
Slowly lower the jack to ensure the vehicle's weight is evenly transferred to the stands.
Before working, manually rock the vehicle to confirm the supports are secure before accessing the vehicle.
